To all MSSL members

You may be aware that we have not collected any league fees for our current Fall 2023 Season.

We did not know what our league fees were going to be because Valley Wide (VW) implemented new rates that would have increased our fees from approximately $1000.00 per year
to $9,900.00 per year (there is no typo there).  I was going to go to the September VW board meeting to discuss this new increased fee schedule, but before I could do that, their
General Manger requested a one-on-one meeting with me to discuss the new increased fees for us as mentioned above that were going into effect on September 1, 2023.

I went to this meeting, and it turned out to be a one on three. It was basically non-productive except for one item.  I managed to get the fee postponed until after January 2024
because we had already started our season. We saved approximately $3700.00 but the fee will increase in January.

I then attended the VW board meeting on September 11, 2023.  Larry Roberts and Jeff Bockness attended also.  We were joined by Menifee Pony League, AYSO Soccer
and a couple other organizations to protest the new, drastically increased fees.  After the formal presentations, the group leaders met outside to discuss future
attempts to reduce the fees. 

The local politicians and the local press have been contacted. 

How does this affect us? We will have to adjust our fees on a temporary basis until VW adjusts their fees.  Our fees for this fall season, starting Thursday, September 28, 2023
will increase by $25.00, from $50.00 to $75.00 to cover us till January 2024 and a little beyond when we take other fees into account.

We may have to increase fees again next year but that will be determined by the outcome of our protest against VW and their fees.  I will keep you advised.

In the meantime, please plan to pay your manager the $75.00 (by check or cash) by Thursday, September 28,2023.
