Commissioners Report -November 2023

Hello al MSSL members and their families…

We continued with an exhibition game against the Mt. San Jacinto College girl’s softball team.  This was the second of two games. (the first was on Halloween.)
This continues to be an annual event looked forward to by all of us.  We raised at total of about $250.00 for their equipment fund.

We had another meeting with the Valley Wide board of directors in an attempt to reduce the proposed increase in fees.  We got exposure from the local ABC
news station and the Press Enterprises and the Menifee 24/7 daily newsletter.  I also attended a meeting with our County Supervisor, Chuck Washington.

John Pape and I attended a Veterans seminar in Murrieta to recruit new players and to acquaint our league to the southwestern county area.
John did one hell of a job organizing this.  Thanks John.

Our league continues to have parity with our teams.  At last count 7 of the 9 teams are within 2 games of each other in the standings.
This is a credit to our drafting techniques and the quality of our managers.   Good job.  Next player draft will be towards the end of January 2024.

The 2024 Spring Season is scheduled to start on January 30, 2024.  Stay tuned.

We had visit from Richard Poppoff and his family who just lost the family patriarch, Carol, to a long term illness. RIP.

We also lost a long time MSSL member, Hugh Ord.  Services are pending for both.

I have one more meeting with Valley Wide management on December 14, 2024.  I am hopeful that we will be successful.

Lastly, I hope that all our MSSL families had a fruitful and wonderful Thanksgiving celebration.

Till next month..

Bobby
