Hello to all MSSL members and their families.
Not quite so busy this month but still enough “stuff”….
1)..Hopefully the rainout on April 4, will be the last of the season. In case you haven’t noticed, the games are being made up. This is the reason for revision #6 on our published schedule.
2)..Congratulations to Gene Dick and his 80’s team for their championship in the Las Vegas tournament. Way to go!!!!!
3)..We had our monthly board meeting at Archibalds. The minutes are posted on the website.
4)..Board elections will be coming up in May. If you are interested, please let a BOD member know. Term is for 2 years.
5..Once again we will be participating in the County Veterans Expo in Murrieta in November. John Pape has done an excellent job with this ongoing project. It provides information for our many veterans and it is a good recruiting tool for our league.
6)..Our annual picnic is in the final planning stages. It will be a little different this year with a live band made up of our past and present players. Stay tuned (film at 11) for final details. Planned date is June 27, 2024.
7)..Mr. Bob Curley has announced that he and his family will be moving to Chicago toward August 2024. Bob has been an invaluable person to our league and particularly to the Board of Directors and the managers. He will be missed. We are still negotiating a possible long distance contract. (can you see me now).
..Later this month, I will be gone on two trips. First is to the Pittsburgh area to see my granddaughter graduate from Allegheny College with a degree in Communications (was originally on a Chemistry scholarship) but changed mid-way through.
Then on a weekly cruise to Alaska. Your Board of Directors will take good care of you and the MSSL while I am away.
That’s all for now folks….See you next month.
Bobby………..
