To all MSSL members…….

As you may know, your newly elected Board of Directors met last Thursday. August 8, 2024.  Here are some updates that you all should be aware.

Some items were voted on at the meeting and some items were passed on to me do and this will cover that.

I have officially notified Valley Wide Recreation that we will NOT be returning to Diamond Valley at this time. I have also notified The City of Menifee that we WILL be continuing with our Fall 2024 Season at Centennial Park.

We will continue our Monday and Wednesday practice session at Wheatfield Park, Field #1 starting at 0800.

The Fall Season 2024, will begin on September 10, 2024, followed by a 3 game interruption after the 10th to allow our tournament players to participate in Las Vegas without putting a burden on our field managers to find multiple substitutes.  This is an experiment for this season only.

We started with 8 teams and 8 managers.  No committee teams.  However, we now need at least one more manager.  See me for details.

Each team will have at least 12 players and a couple may have 13 payers.  Lots of new faces with some being returning players.

With so many players, we will need to update our records.  Board member, Randy Schaaf , along with a few others have designed a new two page information sheet (front and back). The back side is a waiver form that all of us will have to complete.

Our game times will be 0830 and 1000.  The schedule has been completed by Bob Curley and is available on our webpage.  The fields have been designated as E and W.  This is for East and West. The season is 21 games with each team playing each other 3 times.  Then the playoffs. The schedule will end on December 19, 2024, then we will be off until after the holidays when the Spring Season 2025 will begin.

The league fee will be increased to an even $100.00 and will be due at the start of the season.  This includes all 3 seasons (fall 2024,spring and summer 2025), the league picnic, and the exhibition game on Veterans Day against the Mt. San Jacinto College girls softball team. The managers will be assigned to collect the fee. We will be getting about 60 games for this fee when projected all the way out. We also have some major equipment purchases coming up.

The League draft will be held on Sept 4, 2024 at Bill Olsen’s restaurant., “Bellas”.  Currently schedule at noon.
