Commissioners Report…March 2024

Greetings to all MSSL members and their families.

Quite a busy month for the beginning of Spring.

Here are the highlights.

1)..We welcomed one new player this month.  Welcome to Paul Ballard’s neighbor…Andy Aguinaldo.

2)..Once again we have been plagued by rain and bad field conditions.  Beginning
to think I’m back home in Seattle.

3)..With a little extra time, I have been able to get our Memoriam column on the webpage mostly up to date. Take a peek for some memories.

4)..Another reminder that alcohol and smoking is prohibited in the ballfield areas.  We have been contacted and warned about violations.  We are in a sports complex with families and kids so go outside the complex area if you have to drink or smoke.  Don’t jeopardize our enjoyment.

5)..Talked to Bob Martin.  His wife Nancy is progressing slowly.  Also talked to Sal Navarro (who visited) and I believe he will be back with us in the summer.  Speaking of summer, watch for sign-up sheets.

6)..We had several “oldies but goodies” who also visited this month.  Butch Colner, Jack Buss, Bob Fisher, Dino Castrello and Ken Richards.  Sorry if I missed anyone.  Always great to see our predecessors.

7)..I have been advised by Peter Cortez that our annual visit to the Lake Elsinore Storm game will be on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.  Come join the fun at the tailgate party.  Bring your friends and neighbors as well as your other family members.

8)..This month’s Board meeting will be on April 16, 2024.

9)..Still planning exhibition games with the Mt. San Jacinto College girls softball team and the Menifee Police Department. Stay tuned.

10)..Have great April and see you next month.
